Often times if you really want to innovate and bring something new into the world, market research won’t help you in the slightest.

What Henry Ford once said, “If I had asked people what they wanted they would have said faster horses”…

Really sums this up.

People don’t know what they want until they have it. So if you have an idea for something that will make people’s lives easier, then pursue it because you may just be onto something.

Personally for me in my life I have not really had such grand and profound ideas. Most of my ideas were relatively no-brainers where I could see a market was interested in something and so created value for them.

Yet for those out there who may create the next Facebook, or develop the flying car, go for your ideas despite what anyone else may say. And regardless of whether the market has caught up to your ideas yet.
